Best Neighborhoods in Grande Prairie

Grande Prairie is a beautiful place that attracts people from all over the world. With its lovely lakes and rivers, long blue skies, and open space, it’s easy to look past the fact that Grande Prairie has many bustling neighborhoods as well. Here are some of my picks for the best areas in Grande Prairie:

Arbour Hills 

Arbour Hills is one of the newest neighborhoods in Grande Prairie. Its location at the North end of the city provides easy access to Hwy 43 and makes it a convenient choice for people commuting into the city center. The neighborhood itself is very family-friendly, with many schools and parks close by as well as shopping centers such as Walmart, Superstore, and Shoppers Drug mart just up the road.

O’Brien Lake

O’Brien Lake is located in the Southeast corner of Grande Prairie and provides a convenient choice for people commuting to work or going shopping. Many amenities close by, such as grocery stores, shopping centers such as Wal-Mart, Winners, Toys R Us, parks like Connie Duggan Park, and community parks with their exposed granite hillside, make this neighborhood very family-friendly.

Westpointe

Westpointe is located in the heart of Grande Prairie and has easy access to many amenities such as grocery stores, shopping centers such as Walmart, Superstore, Winners. There are also great parks with walking trails and outdoor activities for both kids and adults.

Railway Industrial

Railway Industrial is located in the Northeast area of Grande Prairie and has easy access to Hwy 43. It provides an excellent choice for people commuting into Grande Prairie as it is close to amenities such as grocery stores and shopping centers, making this neighborhood very family-friendly.

Parkside

Parkside is another one of the newer neighborhoods in Grande Prairie. Its location on the East end of the city allows excellent accessibility to amenities such as grocery stores, shopping centers, schools. There are also many sports facilities which make this neighborhood great for families.

Country Club West

Country Club West is located in the Northwest area of Grande Prairie and has easy access to amenities such as grocery stores, shopping centers, schools. This neighborhood is excellent for families with children because it hosts many community events throughout the year, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Carnival, Annual Fall Festival.

Copperwood

This neighborhood is known for its proximity to amenities. It has a wide range of housing options, which include single-family homes and condo apartments. Copperwood also has proximity to the downtown district and a wide range of amenities.

Crystal Lake Estates

The homes in this neighborhood are a combination of single-family homes and condo apartments. There is a large variety of housing options within Crystal Lake Estates, making it attractive to a wide range of people who may want to buy a home. The neighborhood also has proximity to many amenities as well as downtown. 

Royal Oaks

This is one of the best neighborhoods because of the close proximity to amenities. The neighborhood is close to the mall, walking trails, schools, public transit, and other amenities. People who live in this neighborhood enjoy all the benefits included with living in close proximity to downtown. This includes many amenities within walking distance, including some specialty shops and restaurants. 

Signature Falls

This neighborhood is a family-oriented community, and it has many amenities located within the subdivision as well as close to it. The convenience of having access to a variety of amenities makes a living in the Signature Falls Estates very attractive from an investment standpoint and can have everything on your doorstep.

Mission Heights

This neighborhood has many facilities that people enjoy, such as a junior high school, elementary school, and plenty of room to play within the subdivision. Mission Heights is a family-oriented community with lots of activities for children. 

Crystal Heights

This neighborhood specializes in being close to amenities, and it has quick access to public transit, shopping, and other points of interest. The Crystal Heights neighborhood has smaller homes, but it caters to people who are more concerned about being close to the action rather than having an extra room for their belongings.

Kingsgate

This neighborhood is known for its close proximity to amenities such as the mall, restaurants, fast-food chains, and grocery stores. Beautiful landscapes surround the houses in this area, and the convenience of being close to downtown makes this a great neighborhood to live in. Kingsgate is a popular neighborhood for people commuting into Grande Prairie.

While there are many other neighborhoods in Grande Prairie that offer excellent living conditions and accessibility to amenities, these neighborhoods listed above excel in providing their residents with quick and easy access to anywhere they need to go while still maintaining a peaceful environment.
